Divij Sharan loses semifinals in Turkey

The second-seeded Indo-Polish pair collected 90 ATP points and €6,580.

Divij Sharan in partnership with Marcin Matkowski of Poland was beaten 6-4, 2 -6, 10-4 by Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt in the doubles semifinals of the ATP Tour event in Turkey on Friday. The second-seeded Indo-Polish pair collected 90 ATP points and €6,580.

Meanwhile, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in partnership with Enrique Lopez Perez of Spain battled past Robert Galloway and Andreas Siljestrom 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 in the doubles quarterfinals of the $75,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Savannah.

In the semifinals, the third-seeded Jeevan and partner are scheduled to play unseeded Hunter Johnson and Yates Johnson of the US.

In the $25,000 ITF men’s Futures in Nigeria, Arjun Kadhe stopped the fine run of Suraj Prabodh to make the singles final. In Uganda, Kaza Vinayak Sharma made the singles semifinals of the $15,000 event, and the doubles final.

In the ITF women’s circuit, Zeel Desai lost the singles semifinals, but won the doubles title with Bunyawi Thamchaiwat of Thailand, in Hua Hin. Former Asian junior champion Snehadevi Reddy was in fine form in Cairo as she outplayed Marlies Szupper of Austria for the loss of one game to make the semifinals.
