Rohan Bopanna in partnership with Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay was beaten 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 by Novak Djjokovic and Viktor Troicki of Serbia in the doubles first round of the $7,913,405 BNP Paribas Open tennis event in Indian Wells.

The first round exit meant no ATP points for Bopanna and partner who shared $13,550. Leander Paes needed a wild card entry in partnership with Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina, and the duo was scheduled to play Gilles Muller of Luxembourg and Sam Querrey of the US in the first round.
