Top-seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran beat Kwon Soonwoo of Korea 7-6(5), 6-4 to make the quarterfinals of the $54,160 Challenger in Bangkok. In the quarterfinals, Prajnesh will now face Go Soeda of Japan.
Meanwhile, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja went down fighting after being beaten 7-6(4), 6-7(6), 10-8 by the Austrians Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Oswald in the doubles quarterfinals of the €744,010 ATP tennis tournament in France on Thursday.
The Indian pair, which had beaten the top seeds in the first round, collected 45 ATP points and €6000.
