US Open 2023, Day 1 Order of Play: Swiatek, Djokovic in action on opening day

US Open 2023, August 28 schedule: Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek headline the list of first-round matches on the opening day of this year’s Slam at Flushing Meadows on Monday.

Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic will be in action in the first round of the US Open on the Arthur Ashes Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Monday.

World No. 1 and defending champion Swiatek begins her campaign with a clash against Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson

Second seed and three-time winner Djokovic will take on Frenchman Alexandre Muller in what will be the Serbian’s first match at Flushing Meadows in two years.

Where to watch US Open 2023 in India?

In India, viewers will be able to watch the live telecast of the US Open on Sony Sports Ten 2 & Sony Sports Ten 2 HD, Sony Sports Ten 5 & Sony Sports Ten 5 HD channels while the live streaming will be available on Sony Liv.

He had missed last year’s edition since he could not enter the US which required the international travellers to be vaccinated against COVID-19. He also missed the Masters events at Indian Wells and Miami this year due to the same reason. However, the US government ended the vaccine mandate on May 11, clearing the way for Djokovic’s entry. 

Local favourites Coco Gauff, Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz and Christopher Eubanks will also play their first-round matches on the opening day.
