India's Ramkumar Ramanathan eased past France's Gleb Sakharov to advance to the third round of the Australian Open qualifiers on Saturday. Ramkumar won 6-4, 7-6 (10) in a tie that lasted close to two hours.

Ramkumar made the best of his huge serves, firing an impressive 17 aces in the contest, and it was only fitting that he sealed the match with an ace.

He now has a huge task ahead of him, as he faces world number 109 Vasek Pospisil in the third round.

Yuki Bhambri will also be playing his third round match against Peter Polansky of Canada, on Sunday, as it could not be played as scheduled on Saturday.
