When P.V Sindhu takes the court in the semifinal of the Dubai World Super Series against Chen Yufei on Saturday, she would gain confidence from her recent record against Chinese shuttlers.
In the World Championships, the 22-year-old had won all her five games against Chinese opponents. She also beat Wang Yihan in the quarterfinals of the Rio Olympics.

But Chen is one of the teenage dynamites in badminton. The world junior champion already raised eyebrows after she stunned Ratchanok Intanon in the quarterfinals. The youngster and also, the Asian Champion, triumphed at the Macau Open last year too.
Sindhu and Chen’s first outing came at the Macau Open two years ago, when the latter put up a brave fight but lost the battle. She avenged her loss at the Malaysia Open this year. (Head to Head: 1-1)
Chen’s strength lies in her pace and deception. On the other hand, Sindhu’s forte lies in the back court. It remains to be seen whether Chen can drag the Indian closer to the net.
