Viswanathan Anand produced a clinical performance to outplay Israel's Tal Baron in 27 moves in the second round of FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss tournament here on Friday.

After the opening day's shock loss to Evgeniy Najer, Anand was in his elements as he duly won with white pieces.

B. Adhiban registered his second straight win to be among the five leaders, including second seed Fabiano Caruana. Playing black, Adhiban defeated USA’s Jeffery Xiong.

Creditably, Raunak Sadhwani drew with Sergey Karjakin and D. Gukesh held Yuriy Kryvoruchko. Equally impressive were D. Harika and Soumya Swaminathan in proving equal to Ray Robson and Robert Hovhannisyan.
