Stuart Broad completed a stunning turnaround as Hobart Hurricanes claimed a two-wicket victory over Melbourne Renegades in a record-breaking Big Bash League clash.
The Renegades posted the biggest total in BBL history, with captain Aaron Finch (63) and Tom Cooper (53 not out) leading the way as they finished 222-4.
But the Hurricanes was undeterred and the heroics of Ben McDermott (114 off 52 deliveries) inspired the visitor to a spectacular comeback to immediately dismantle the new marker.
With the Hurricanes needing 22 from the last two overs, Sunil Narine (3-27) took two wickets and limited Tim Paine's side to six to send them into the last six balls facing an uphill task.
But despite losing Cameron Boyce (1) to a run out off the second delivery of Thisara Perera's (0-59) final over, three runs off a wide helped the Hurricanes on its way and Broad fired 11 off the last four balls to clinch an unlikely victory.
The Hurricanes' third win of the campaign lifts them from seventh to fifth, climbing above the Renegades.
The odds were stacked against the Hurricanes after the Renegades piled on the runs in its 20 overs, the Melbourne side smashing its own record for the top score in BBL history.
The Renegades' last marker stood at 210, set in 2013-14 against Brisbane Heat, who until Thursday had been on the receiving end of the top four scores of all time.
However, the new record proved short lived, with McDermott's stunning innings the catalyst for the Hurricanes' fightback.
McDermott looked destined to continue the record-breaking theme of the day as he chalked up his century off only 47 deliveries.
With Luke Wright's 117-run haul for the Hurricanes in 2011-12 in his sights, man-of-the-match McDermott agonisingly fell three runs short when he was trapped lbw by Narine.
George Bailey (59) chipped in with a half-century of his own before himself falling victim to Narine, with Broad stepping up to see the Hurricanes over the line.
