BCCI invites Afghanistan President Ghani for Bengaluru Test

The delegation met the Afghanistan President on Tuesday, along with Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman, Atif Mashal, to discuss cricketing developments.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited Afghanistan president, Ashraf Ghani, for the one-off Test match in Bengaluru next month.

A BCCI delegation, headed by the acting secretary, Amitabh Chaudhary, is in Kabul to discuss the future of Indo-Afghan cricketing relations.

The delegation met the Afghanistan President on Tuesday, along with Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman, Atif Mashal, to discuss about the bilateral ties and cricketing developments.

“During the meeting, the BCCI officials invited the President for the historic match. The trip is about the strong bond between the two countries,” a well-placed source confirmed to Sportstar .

While the Afghanistan President’s Office confirmed that Ghani did have a meeting with the BCCI officials, it did not comment whether the President will finally come to Bengaluru for the game. “A decision could be taken in the next few days,” the source said.
