England paceman Stuart Broad is to undergo a scan on an ankle injury.

Broad bowled only eight overs in the second innings of Nottinghamshire's County Championship draw with Worcestershire after aggravating the problem.

Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores allayed concerns over the extent of the damage done just a month before England faces India in the first Test at Edgbaston.

"It is manageable, but he has a lot of cricket to play in the rest of the summer," said Moores.

On Friday, Division One title contender Nottinghamshire announced the signing of Quinton de Kock for four Championship matches later in the season.

South Africa international De Kock is set to play as a batsman in games at Hampshire and leader Surrey next month, as well as the matches against Yorkshire and Essex in September.
