Tamil Nadu will hope to post a strong total against Kerala.

Key highlights from day two action of Round 5 matches of Ranji Trophy 2018-19.

  • That would be stumps at all venues. Thanks for tuning in for the updates and do not forget to join back tomorrow.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore: Ajay Rohera completes 250 with another huge six off Tanmay Agarwal as MP finishes the day at an imposing 539 for four at close on second day in reply to Hyderabad's 124. Yash Dubey was unbeaten on an equally impressive 128.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot: As predicted, Karnataka beginning to collapse. Three wickets, all taken by Jadeja, gone for 13 runs. On this difficult pitch, a wicket is never too far away. Jadeja running circles around the batters. Some of his deliveries are turning from off to the seventh stump. Karnataka eight down. Jadeja with incredible figures of seven for 97 - his best in first-class cricket. Skipper Vinay cannot handle the arm ball, plumb in front.

  • At Kotla, Gautam Gambhir and Dhruv Shorey keep Delhi ticking after the fall of Hiten Dalal on 58, in reply to Andhra's first innings score of 390.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Pune: Aditya Tare had switched gears after the break and was set to convert his second successive fifty into a hundred. But against the run of play, he misses a sweep off left-arm spinner Satyajeet Bachhav to be plumb in front of the wickets. Tare dismissed for 63. Mumbai 143 for 2

  • At Mohali, Punjab struggling at 22 for 4 in reply to Himachal's 390. Guleria picks two, Dagar one as Yuvraj Singh is run out.

  • At Wayanad, Sikkim 3 for 1 in the third session of the day after Puducherry declared its first innings at 647 for 8.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore: Ajay Rohera reaches a brilliant double century with a pull for a six off pacer Mohammad Murassir, MP 424 for 4 in reply to Hyderbad's 124 in the final session of second day.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore: Madhya Pradesh go into tea break at a commanding position of 396 for four with Ajay Rohera on 187 and Yash Dubey on 55, the two putting on 118-run stand for the fifth wicket to give the team an imposing lead of 272 with six wickets in hand vs Hyderabad.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot: A. Barot at first slip fluffs a low chance. Deshpande on 5, survives. Must say the Saurashtra fielding has been pretty ordinary so far.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore: Yash Dubey completes a fine half century as MP piles on the agony for Hyderabad 390 for 4 before tea break, Ajay Rohera going strong on 186.

  • While we were wondering about the Maharashtra derby, Amol Karhadkar promptly drops in with his updates from Pune: Jay Bista threw it away soon after lunch, mistiming a pull off Samad Fallah, but since then, Aditya Tare and Siddhesh Lad were sailing comfortably. Out of the blue, debutant all-rounder created a chance, with Lad mistiming a pull. But Satyajeet Bachhav spills a simple catch at square-leg. Lad survives on 28, Mumbai 77 for 1.

  • Something interesting has happened at Rajkot, Ashwin Achal with the updates: Chirag Jani puts down a catch at point. KV Siddharth, batting on 5, skies Jadeja high towards point. Jani first runs into umpire Yeshwant Barde, and then fluffs the chance. Jadeja is very unhappy. Umpire Barde late to react and get out of the way. Secondly, unsure why he was standing at point and not square leg. Both right handed batsmen at the crease, so no need to stay at point. Either way, Jani should have taken the regulation catch. Barde, meanwhile, moves to square leg now. The drop doesn't matter, because Jadeja gets Siddharth to edge a full delivery to second slip. Karnataka in danger of collapsing and conceding a big lead.

  • Parvez Rasool leads from the front as J&k bundle Uttar Pradesh out for 188. J&K has wrested a first innings lead of 102 runs.

  • At Wayanad, Puducherry has raised a massive 611 for 5 in the first innings against Sikkim. Can we expect a declaration, now?

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore:Madhya Pradesh has virtually sealed Hyderabad's fate in this game scoring 350 for four with Ajay Rohera on 173 and Yash Dubey on 33, a lead of 227 already on day two.

  • At Chepauk, Kerala 79/3 and trails by 189 runs against Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile in another match, Baroda has been all out for 385 against Chattisgarh with Yusuf Pathan slamming a century.

  • In a Elite Group A match, Punjab's Sandeep Sharma takes a five-for but Himachal well-placed at 382/9.

  • At Kotla, Gautam Gambhir and Hiten Dalal have given Delhi a solid start in reply to Andhra's first innings total of 390.

  • At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Assam's Ranjeet Mali bags a five-wicket haul but Rajasthan is 187-run ahead.

  • At Ranchi, opener Anurag Sarangi and Suryakant Pradhan scored fifties before Odisha was bowled out for 201 with a lead of just 29 runs against Jharkhand.

  • Moving back to Rajkot where our reporter Ashwin Achal updates that Karun and Nischal have started the second session positively for Karnataka after lunch.

  • Score update from cricket happening in Adelaide: Australia finishes day two on 191/7, trailing India (250) by 59 runs. Travis Head unbeaten on 61 while for India Ashwin picked three wickets and Bumrah and Ishant two each.

  • At Porvorim in a Plate Group match - Goa struggling at 100/7 and trailing Services (184) by 84 runs.

  • Ajay Rohera brings up his 150 as Madhya Pradesh moves to 300/4 against Hyderabad.

  • At Patna, Bihar is past 400 as opener Indrajit Kumar scores an unbeaten double hundred against Arunachal Pradesh who was bowled out for 84 in its first innings.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Makvana replaces Yuvraj. Nearly gets Nischal fending to short leg, then has Karun in trouble. Karun doesn't connect with a reverse sweep, ball hits pads inside the line. Karun lucky to survive that strong appeal.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyan updates from Indore

  • Ravi Kiran strikes against, earns an lbw decision in his favour against Shubham Sharma, the batsman visibly disappointed, MP 278 for four, in reply to Hyderabad's 124 just before lunch break.

  • Madhya Pradesh go into lunch break at 280 for four with Ajay Rohera on 139 and Yash Dubey on 0, lead by 156 runs.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Legspinner Yuvraj into the attack. He is not as threatening as the finger spinners. Yuvraj lacks the  zip to trouble the batsmen.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Pune

  • Royston Dias winds up the Maharashtra tail in no time to end an impressive morning for the bowling unit. Maharashtra have lost seven wickets for 54 runs today to be bowled out for 352. Mumbai openers now have to see off 20-odd minutes before lunch to make it a perfect morning for the team.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyan updates from Indore

  • Pacer Ravi Kiran forced Madhya Pradesh captain Naman Ojha play away from the body only to edge to slip fielder Tanay Thayagarajan, 262 for three in 74 the over on second morning in reply to Hyderabad's 124.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Karnataka lose second wicket. Jadeja again, gets one to rip back into Padikkal. Batsman stuck on the crease, gone LBW. This pitch has turn and uneven bounce. Karnataka in for a torrid phase.

  • Suresh Raina's poor run continues as he departs for just 18. Uttar Pradesh struggling at 79/5 against Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Pune

  • The last ball before drinks, Prtkar finds Satyajeet Bachhav stranded in front of the wickets to leave Maharashtra at 333 for 7. It's been Mumbai's morning all along with Parkar leading the charge.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyan updates from Indore

  • At the first drinks break in the morning, Madhya Pradesh well and truly in control at 223 for 2 with Ajay Rogers on 113 and captain Naman Ojha on 21 in reply to Hyderabad's 124 on second day in Indore.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Karnataka openers Samarth and Nischal seriously tested. Brilliant aggressive tactics by Saurashtra to attack with spinners so early. Both batters look very nervous. Expect the first wicket to fall soon.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Pune

  • Parkar continues to shine all over the field. First, a rocket throw from deep on the off-side combined with Maharashtra captain Rahul Tripathi's casual running resulted in the latter being run out. Six balls later, Aditya Tare didn't miss a regulation catch offered by Rohit Motwani off Parkar. At 325 for 6, Maharashtra in danger of wasting the good work of top order on the opening day.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Spin from both ends now. Offie Makvana replaces pacer Chirag, who bowled just the one over.

  • Saurashtra opens with left-arm spinner Jadeja. Home team wants to exploit turning pitch. Jadeja has Nischal in all sorts of trouble. Starts with an arm ball, then floats it up and gets huge turn. Nischal very lucky to survive that over.

  • Amol Karhadkar updates from Pune

  • Mumbai seamers are using the second ball much better than the first. With the red cherry barely five overs old at the start of the day's play, Akash Parkar struck in the fourth over. Jay Pande added six runs to his overnight score of 68 before Parkar uprooted his off-stump. Had Jay Bista at first slip not dropped Rohit Motwani off Royston Dias in the next over, Maharashtra would have been in dire straits.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Makvana last man to go. Plants his front foot outside off and tries to sweep Suchith. Misses it completely and loses middle stump. 316 is a good total, given that Saurashtra was at 119/5 at one stage.

  • Last man Yuvraj and set batter Makwana attacking the Karnataka spinners. The slog sweep is the preferred option, and it is working very well. Last wicket stand has added a valuable 40 runs thus far.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyan updates from Indore

  • Ajay Rogers completes a splendid century with two beautiful boundaries off pacer Ravi Kiran. In the previous over after seeing his overnight partner Rajat Patidar caught behind off pacer Mudassar MP 193 for two in reply to Hyderabad's 124 on second morning in Indore.

  • Ashwin Achal updates from Rajkot

  • Short leg catcher D. Nischal takes a full-blooded Makvana sweep to the hip bone. He's sprawled on the ground, play is stopped. Nischal eventually leaves the field, but he looks fine. No serious injury.

  • Dipak Raghav updates from M.A. Chidambaram Stadium

  • Some bad news for TN. overnight batsman Mohammed was dismissed in the first over. Scored a boundary and the very next ball caught behind flashing outside off-stump. TN 260 / 7

  • A. Sarkar and M.B. Mura Singh shared nine wickets among themselves as Tripura bundle out Haryana for 292. While R.M. Dagar hit a fine century, C.K. Bishnoi contributed with a 196-ball 82 to help Haryana post a respectable total.

  • A. Sarkar picks up a five-wicket haul as Tripura is 278/9 in 96.2 overs.

  • Manipur has crossed the 200-run mark in 53.1 overs for the loss of three wickets.

Our correspondents Amol Karhadkar, Ashwin Achal, V.V. Subrahmanyam and Dipak Raghav will get you all the updates from Pune, Rajkot, Indore and Chennai respectively.

  • V.V. Subrahmanyam updates from Indore: Madhya Pradesh is off to a confident start (50 for no loss) in 13 overs in reply to Hyderabad's paltry 124 on first day.

  • Interesting team selection by Karnataka. Karun and Samarth predictably come in, replacing batsman Kaunian Abbas and pacer Ronit More. That leaves Karnataka with only 4 Frontline bowlers - Vinay, Mithun, Suchith and Shreyas. That's a heavy workload for the foursome, especially considering that the Saurashtra CA stadium pitch generally favours batting. Karun and Samarth likely to fill in with their part-time bowling. Spin introduced in just the fourth over. Left-arm orthodox J. Suchith is in. Odd to see a team play an extra batsman on a batting wicket. All-rounder K. Gowtham was set to join the team for this match, but a late injury to Washington Sundar meant that Gowtham was included as a replacement for Sundar in the India A one-day team in New Zealand. Karnataka captain Vinay Kumar could have really used Gowtham's off-spin and handy batting on this pitch.
