Shorey scores hundred, Bhui 91 in drawn game vs SA 'A'

Shorey’s 101 and Bhui’s 91 enabled Board President XI to declare its first innings at 397 for 6 as the match ended in a draw.

Dhruv Shorey 101 (162b, 16x4, 1x6) and Ricky Bhui 91 (165b, 13x4, 1x6) starred for Board President’s XI on the final day of its drawn match against South Africa 'A' at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

Shorey and Bhui helped Board President’s XI declare on 397 for six, in response to the visitor’s first innings total of 473 for four declared. Bhui fell nine short of a century, when he was trapped leg-before by leg-spinner Shaun Von Berg.

Punjab youngster Anmolpreet Singh made a 57-ball 32, while Ishan Kishan (17 n.o., 57b, 3x4) and Jalaj Saxena (13 n.o., 17b, 3x4) remained unbeaten. Von Berg (three for 62) was the most successful South Africa ‘A’ bowler.

South Africa ‘A’ cruised to 61 for two, before play was called off due to rain.
