County Ground

Home to the Gloucestershire county team, the County Ground was established in 1889. In 1919, the county sold the venue to Fry’s, the confectionery firm, before buying it back in 1933. In 1976, Royal and Sun Alliance (the RSA Insurance Group today) acquired the ground, then sold it back to in 2004.

The 8,000-capacity venue hosted its first One-Day International in the Prudential World Cup on June 13, 1983, which New Zealand won against Sri Lanka by five wickets. In the last ODI played at the ground, England thrashed the West Indies by 124 runs on September 24, 2017.
