Kohli unperturbed by Australian media attack

“I'm surprised, so many people are getting affected by just one individual, so good luck to them. If it's selling their news, good luck to them,” the Indian captain said ahead of the fourth Test in Dharamsala.

Virat Kohli...“I've faced this many times before so I have nothing to go back and change.”

Virat Kohli, as always, had come prepared for the volley of questions, related to his fitness and being targeted by the Australian media.

“It's (the criticism) something that is happening on the outside. I think what I try to do is look inside as to what are the things I need to improve on as a cricketer and as a person, what my team-mates and close people think of me. These things do not matter to me so much. They have never mattered. I've faced this initially in my career. I've faced this many times before so I have nothing to go back and change. The only thing is, I'm surprised, so many people are getting affected by just one individual, so good luck to them. If it's selling their news, good luck to them,” he said as a matter of fact, ahead of the fourth Test here.

What about the support from former cricketers? “See as cricketers you understand exactly what goes on - during a series, in the game, on the field. I'm sure those guys can relate to it. Everyone's doing their jobs. If they want to write something good or bad it's your own personal choice. I'm not going to sit here and say write good things about me or bad things about me, it's your own choice. Everyone has their own conscience to sleep with at night and same applies for everyone.”

Kohli reflected on the situation well. “There is no special treatment for anyone. Obviously if, I am hundred percent fit for the game, is the only condition that I will take the field. So, the rules are same for everyone. The physio can explain better. I don’t know the magnitude of the risk. All I know is that if I go through fitness test, I will take the field. One thing I am really delighted to see is how the guys have stood up in difficult situations and batted through for the team.”
