Another run-out and Mumbai is in complete control of the game as Gowtham walks back. This was a brain fade moment as he denied a single and then ran for it with Rohit hitting the stumps. Lucknow is almost down and out of the tournament.

Oh Dear! It’s self-imploding from Lucknow as Stoinis is run-out and a terrible mix-up ended the big hitter’s stay at the wicket. This is catastrophic for Lucknow as Hooda and Stoinis clash in a horrible run-out. Excellent over from Green and Mumbai holding the aces.

Chawla continues to impress as Hooda walks in and joins Stoinis as Lucknow needs 97 from 54 balls.

Akash Madhwal strikes and Mumbai tightens screws with Akash casting Badoni as the batsman paid the price for playing across the line and missing the ball completely. It’s a poor shot from the batsman as he walks back for a 7-ball 1. Madhwal then removes Pooran as the bowler induces an outside edge to pack off the big hitter for a golden duck. Wow! What a turnaround and Mumbai will believe they have a chance to board the flight to Ahmedabad.

Chawla strikes and he has broken the partnership by removing Krunal who skipped down the track and hit one straight to Tim David at long-on. The 46-run partnership has been broken and out walks Ayush Badoni. The captain’s poor form continues.

Green is back into the attack and Lucknow is very much in the game chasing a target of 183. They have depth in batting but Mumbai has the bowling to progress ahead in the tournament. Lucknow needs 115 runs from 72 balls.

Piyush Chawla into the attack and Mumbai will look to strangle Lucknow with spin. Stoinis and Krunal will wait for their chances to go big but on a slow Chepauk surface, this is going to be an interesting run chase as the Lucknow skipper sweeps Chawla for his first boundary.

Krunal finally gets off the mark and then Stoinis punishes Shokeen for back-to-back boundaries and the bowler has erred in length, bowling short to the big-hitter. A six down the ground has put the spinner under pressure to loot 18 runs from the over.

Chris Jordan picks his first wicket and he removes the dangerous Mayers who tried to play a pull shot but nailed straight to Green at mid-wicket. Mumbai making inroads. Marcus Stoinis walks in and drives Jordan through the covers for a boundary to get off the mark.

Behrendorff into the attack and Mayers pockets a boundary to keep the scorecard ticking as Krunal Pandya walks in. The Lucknow skipper is yet to get off the mark but Mayers is up and running.

Mohsin Khan picks his first wicket and Deepak Hooda takes his second catch comfortably as Lucknow keeps chipping away with wickets this time Jordan falls while trying to go for a big shot. Just six runs and a wicket and this is brilliant from Mohsin.

Nehal Wadhera connects well to hit a brilliant maximum over the deep mid-wicket but Naveen picked his fourth wicket to remove the dangerous Tilak Varma, courtesy of a good catch from Deepak Hooda at long-off.

David drills Thakur for a boundary over the point region and the ball evades Krunal Pandya who attempted to take a catch. The bowler did find success as he dismissed David who holed out at long-on with the third umpire confirming that it wasn’t a no-ball for height. Really lucky as a shorter batsman would have extended his stay at the crease! By the way, Nehal Wadhera is the Impact Sub for Suryakumar Yadav.

Naveen-ul-Haq returns to bowl his third over and Tikal Varma targets the shortest side of the boundary by smacking the bowler for six over the deep square leg region. It was a brilliant pickup shot as the batsman got down on one knee to dispatch the bowler over the fence. Lucknow, however, is in control of proceedings and will look to finish things well.

The boundaries have dried up as the pressure is on Mumbai to go for the big shots and it’s been almost 18 balls since they scored a boundary. Lucknow tightens the screws as Bishnoi finishes his quota with 4-0-30-0.

Mumbai is going at a run-rate of around 9 rpo and with Tilak and David at the crease, they will look for a strong finish. Yash Thakur has bowled well and has used his variations well to give Lucknow control.

Krunal bowls out and finishes with figures of 4-0-38-0 but in the final over the Lucknow skipper gives just five runs to stem the flow of boundaries.

Bishnoi continues as Tim David joins Tilak Varma and the batsman pings the spinner with a brilliant slog sweep as the ball sails over the deep mid-wicket. This is a very interesting passage of play as both teams are looking to take control of the game.

Surya brings the 100 up for Mumbai with a brilliant backfoot punch as the ball beats the fielder at the deep extra cover region. However, Naveen-ul-Haq has the last laugh as he breaks the 66-run stand that came in 38 balls by removing Surya who chipped a slower delivery in the air as Gowtham took a comfortable catch at long-off. The pacer then knocks out Green with another slower one as the ball misses Green’s expansive drive to castle the stumps. Lucknow is back in the game.

On a slow pitch, this is outstanding batting from both Surya and Green with the former dispatching Bishnoi over the covers for a boundary and Lucknow needs to break this stand to bounce back.

Surya plays an incredible shot as he uses the paces of Mohsin Khan, gets underneath the ball and laps it up way over the fine leg boundary for a maximum. Green then dispatched the pacer for a huge six over the deep square leg to bring the 50-run partnership in 28 balls. Top stuff.

Ravi Bishnoi into the attack and the spinner induces a top-edge but Surya survives as the ball evades the fielder at short fine-leg. This is a good period of play as Surya will look to go after the spinner and Bishnoi bowling a stump-to-stump line and eyeing for a wicket. Just five runs from Bishnoi’s over.

The runs are coming thick and fast for Mumbai as Green smacks Mohsin Khan for a boundary to the long-off region but the bowler bounces back to pull back things.

Green is dealing in boundaries as the in-form batsman punishes Krunal for three boundaries to bring the 50-up and the recovery is being done by both Green and Surya after Mumbai lost its openers. The PowerPlay is done and although Lucknow picked two wickets, Green negated the fall of Mumbai openers with his power hitting.

Wow! What a start from Lucknow as Yash Thakur strikes and the extra bounce doing the trick there as Ishan gets a thick outside edge while trying to go for an expansive upper cut but ended up getting an edge with the keeper pouching a neat catch. Suryakumar Yadav is the new man in and he gets off the mark in his very first ball and then ends the over with a brilliant six over the keeper’s head.

Naveen-ul-Haq strikes and he picks the big wicket of Rohit Sharma who skips down the track and nails straight to Ayush Badoni at covers. What a start for the fast bowler. Cameron Green sets up his batting exhibition stall with a cut through the backward point for a boundary. The batsman gets lucky as an outside edge flies through the vacant slip cordon for another boundary.

Rohit gets up and running with a brilliant six over long-on as the ploy of starting with spin hasn’t paid rich dividends, so far as the Mumbai skipper employs the sweep to perfection and pockets another boundary as Krunal gives away 16 runs from his second over.

K Gowtham into the attack and Ishan is off the blocks in a flash as he guides the spinner for two consecutive boundaries by neatly opening the face of the bat to give Mumbai a sedate start.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are out in the middle and both openers will look to give Mumbai a solid start. Interesting start from Lucknow as it’s Krunal Pandya who will start proceedings with the new ball. Spin to start with. Here we go!
