It all started with the first ball of the match — as Jaydev Unadkat bowled a magnificent off-cutter which Martin Guptill threw himself at and was caught by a leaping Manoj Tiwary at short cover.
It looked like lady luck was smiling on Unadkat. With KXIP two down and needing some important partnership and runs, Unadkat ran out Eoin Morgan at the non-striker's end in the fifth over. A clean throw and a quick reaction from Unadkat gave the RPS side an edge after a dropped catch by M. S. Dhoni.
However, Unadkat's brilliance on the field did not end there. In the very next over, Unadkat dived full-length to send Rahul Tewatia to take a catch as the KXIP batsman had to walk back, who was promoted today up the batting order.
Unadkat came back to bowl in the 14th over to remove Swapnil Singh. He ended with two wickets, one run out and one catch to his name.
His all-round performance during KXIP's innings— although he didn't get to bat as RPS won by nine wickets — makes him the player of the match on Sunday.
