Vijay Hazare Trophy: Sanju Samson hits double ton; Tamil Nadu records eighth straight win

RESULTS

1. Haryana 135 in 39.5 overs (S. P. Kumar 47, S. S. Bachhav 4 for 33, A. N. Kazi 4 for 31) lost to Maharashtra 136 for 5 in 35.1 overs (N. S. Shaikh 48 n.o., Ankit Bawne 42) by five wickets.

2. Saurashtra 212 in 47.2 overs (Prerak Mankad 86, Chirag Jani 66, M. Prasidh Krishna 5 for 19, V. Koushik 3 for 23) lost to Karnataka 213 for 2 in 36.4 overs (Devdutt Padikkal 103 n.o., Manish Pandey 67 n.o.) by eight wickets.

3. Kerala 377 for 3 in 50 overs (Sanju Samson 212 n.o., Sachin Baby 127) beat Goa 273 for 8 in 50 overs (Aditya Kaushik 58, Tunish Sawkar 56) by 104 runs.

4. Tamil Nadu beat Madhya Pradesh by 211 runs.

5. Team Rajasthan 268 for 5 in 50 overs (D. L. Chahar 63 n.o., R. K. Bishnoi 61 n.o., Y. B. Kothari 59, Chetan Bist 49, Md Sarfaraz Ashraf 3 for 34) beat Bihar 109 in 36.3 overs (Rahul Chahar 4 for 45) by 159 runs.

6. Andhra 265 for 6 in 50 overs (Kranthi Kumar 72, Ricky Bhui 59, D. B. Prashanth Kumar 56) lost to Jharkhand 266 for 7 in 49.4 overs (Virat Singh 74 n.o., Saurabh Tiwary 56, Utkarsh Singh 49) by three wickets.

7. Tripura 235 for 9 in 49.5 overs (U. U. Bose 85, Milind 64) lost to Railways by one wicket.

8. Punjab 204 all out (Gurkeerat Singh Mann 66, Karan Kalia 47, Ankit Rajpoot 4/36) beat Uttar Pradesh 141 all out (Upendra Yadav 46, Rinku Singh 20, Karan Kalia 4/22) by 63 runs.

 

Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh | Punjab have almost sealed the game Uttar Pradesh requires another 89 runs to win with just an over remaining.

Odisha vs Vidarbha | Akshay Wadkar and Akshay Karnewar have kept the Odisha bowlers at bay in chase of 225. Vidarbha needs another 79 runs with four wickets in hand.

Andhra vs Jharkhand | Jharkhand has defeated Andhra by three wickets. Jharkhand reaches home with two balls to spare. Virat Singh played a handy knock (74 n.o., 58b, 7x4, 1x6) to steer his side to victory.

Tripura vs Railways | In the closest concluded contest today so far, Railways pipped Tripura by one wicket, at the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground in Jaipur. Karn Sharma and Arindam Ghosh shone with the bat as Railways reached its target in the final over.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar| Team Rajasthan defeats Bihar by 159 runs at the K. L. Saini Stadium in Jaipur. Bihar was bowled out for 109 in the 37th over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Tamil Nadu registers a 211-run win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Madhya Pradesh is bowled out for 149. M. Ashwin takes three wickets; Abhishek Tanwar, R. Sai Kishore and B. Aparajith take two each. Aparajith's figures —0.4-0-0-2.

Kerala vs Goa | Kerala has defeated Goa by 104 runs.

Karnataka vs Saurashtra | Karnataka waltzes to its fourth consecutive win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It's an eight wicket win. It reaches its target in the 37th over.

Kerala vs Goa | Tunish Sawkar and Aditya Kaushik have hit half-centuries for Goa. Sawkar, however, was dismissed for 56. After 31 overs, Goa is 153 for 5, still 225 runs away from its target.

Karnataka vs Saurashtra | After 35 overs, Karnataka is 200 for 2. It needs 13 more for victory.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | Maharashtra has completed its victory. It defeats Haryana by five wickets. It took Maharashtra 35.1 overs to reach its target of 136. N. S. Shaikh top scored with an unbeaten 48.

Vidarbha vs Odisha | The seventh wicket partnership has blossomed. Akshay Wadkar (40 n.o.) and Akshay Karnewar (42 n.o.) have added 56 runs.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar | Bihar is one wicket away from a big defeat, against Team Rajasthan. It has lost its last five wickets for 23 runs. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar has four wickets. At 105 for 9, it needs 161 more runs to win.

Railways vs Tripura | Railways is 125 for 5 in the 29th over, in response to Tripura's 235 for 9. Arindam Ghosh and Karn Sharma are batting; they have put on 56 runs for the sixth wicket.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Madhya Pradesh is six wickets down. It appears a difficult task for the side now, it needs 213 more runs to win, in 22.4 overs. Anand Singh Bais and Kumar Kartikeya Singh are batting.

Andhra vs Jharkhand | Jharkhand has crossed 100, for the loss of three wickets. Saurabh Tiwary and Ishan Kishan, the captain and wicketkeeper, are batting. Utkarsh Singh, the opener, was dismissed for 49.

Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh | Uttar Pradesh is struggling in its chase, it's now reduced to 116 for 6 in the 30th over. Upendra Yadav (39 n.o.) and Shivam Mavi (0 n.o.) are batting. Eighty nine more runs are needed to win. Karan Kaila, a left-arm spinner, has three wickets.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | Karnataka is 176 for 2 after 33 overs, chasing 213.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar | In the 22nd over, Bihar is 65 for 4, chasing a target of 266. Chiranjivi was the last batsman to be dismissed, in the 21st over. He fell for 32 to leg-spinner Rahul Chahar. Rahmat Ullah and Utkarsh are in the middle.

Railways vs Tripura | After 15 overs, Railways is 46 for 3. Manish Rao was the third batsman to be dismissed — for 12. Captain Arindam Ghosh (16 n.o.) is batting with Sandeep Yadav (3 n.o.).

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Two new batsmen — Yash Dubey and Anand Singh Bais — are at the crease for Madhya Pradesh. No. 3 Venkatesh Iyer was the third batsman to be dismissed, for 24.  Score: 70 for 3 in the 12th over.

Kerala vs Goa | Goa has crossed 50; it took the team 11 overs to get there. Three hundred and twenty five more runs are needed to win in 38 overs, an uphill task. Opener Aditya Kaushik and No. 3 Sagun Kamat are batting.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | Karnataka is 88 for 2 in the 21st over, chasing a target of 213.

Andhra vs Jharkhand | Jharkhand has just begun its chase of 266. Openers Anand Singh and Utkarsh Singh have put on 13 runs in four overs.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | At the Darshanam Sports and Education Academy in Vadodara, Maharashtra has crossed the half-way mark in its chase of 136. It is 73 for 3 in the 22nd over; Ankit Bawne and N. S. Shaikh have put on 25 runs for the fourth wicket.

Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh | In the eighth over, Uttar Pradesh is 29 for 1, chasing a target of 205. Opener Abhishek Goswami was dismissed bowled by Siddharth Kaul, the fast bowler.

Vidarbha vs Odisha | Vidarbha has lost four early wickets. Faiz Fazal, R. Sanjay, Aditya Sarwate and Wasim Jaffer have all been dismissed. It's 41 for 4 in the 15th over, chasing 225. Left-arm spinner Pappu Roy has two wickets.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar | Bihar is struggling at 45 for 3 in the 18th over, chasing 266. S. Gani, Vikash Ranjan and Shasheem Rathour have been dismissed.

Railways vs Tripura | Railways has lost two early wickets in its chase of 236. At the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground, Jaipur, Railways's openers — Mrunal Devdhar and Pratham Singh — have been dismissed. it's 26 for 2 in the 10th over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Madhya Pradesh has lost two early wickets, in its chase of 361. Openers Rajat Patidar and Naman Ojha have been dismissed. Seamers Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Tanwar have one wicket each.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | Maharashtra has lost early wickets, in its chase of 136. Ruturaj Gaikwad and R. D. Tripathi been dismissed. It's 34 for 2 in the 10th over.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar | Team Rajasthan posts 265 for 5 in its 50 overs. R. K. Bishnoi and D. L. Chahar put on 109 for the sixth wicket; the partnership remained unbeaten. Both scored half-centuries.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Tamil Nadu posts a mammoth total of 360 for 4 after 50 overs, thanks to a rapid cameo by Dinesh Karthik. The Tamil Nadu captain hits seven fours and three sixes in his unbeaten, 26-ball 60. Abhinav Mukund top scores with 147.

Kerala vs Goa | It's the highest individual score ever made in the Vijay Hazare Trophy - Sanju Samson's unbeaten 212. Last season, Uttarakhand's Karanveer Kaushal had scored the first double-century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kerala's final score - 377 for 3 in 50 overs.

 

Vidarbha vs Odisha | Odisha posts a total of 223 for 8 in its 50 overs. Govinda Poddar top scored with 76, and Abhishek Raut scored 40. Y. R. Thakur took three wickets.

Kerala vs Goa | Sanju Samson hits a double-century for Kerala, but his partnership with Sachin Baby ends as Sachin is dismissed for 127 in the final over of the innings. Kerala has already amassed 369 for 3; five deliveries are still left.

Sanju reached his 200 off 125 deliveries. It's been a remarkable blitzkrieg — he's hit 20 fours and 10 sixes.

 

Railways vs Tripura | Tripura has lost four wickets since Bose got out. Milind, the other batsman to score a half-century, fell for 64. M. B. Mura Singh, the captain, is batting on 29. After 49 overs, Tripura is 225 for 8. Shivendra Singh has three wickets.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | Haryana has been bowled out for 135, in the 40th over. S. P. Kumar remained unbeaten on 47, but ran out of partners. S. S. Bachhav and A. N. Kazi took four wickets each.

Kerala vs Goa | Sanju Samson has a realistic chance of getting to a double-century, at the Alur grounds in Bengaluru. He is batting on 192, off 120 deliveries, a knock studded with 20 fours and eight sixes. Sachin Baby has also scored a century. Kerala is 328 for 2 in the 47th over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Vijay Shankar falls for 90. He misses out on what would have been his first century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season. Dinesh Karthik, the captain, has come out to bat alongside Abhinav Mukund, who is batting on 124.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | The seventh-wicket partnership comes to an end for Saurashtra. Chirag Jani is dismissed for 66 by off-spinner K. Gowtham. It was a fruitful partnership, worth 150 runs. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja is the new batsman. Prerak Mankad is batting on 85. Saurashtra is 195 for 7 in the 44th over.

Railways vs Tripura | U. U. Bose's innings comes to an end, at the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground in Jaipur. He is run out by Mrunal Devdhar for 85. No. 5 Milind is batting on 64; M. B. Mura Singh, the captain, has joined him in the middle. Tripura is 188 for 4 in the 45th over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Abhinav Mukund gets to his century in 110 balls. Tamil Nadu is 221 for 2 in the 40th over. Vijay Shankar is 18 runs away from his century.

Vidarbha vs Odisha | At the Motibaug Cricket Ground in Vadodara, Govinda Poddar and Abhishek Raut have put on 96 runs for the fifth wicket. Poddar is batting on 61; he has hit seven fours and a six and has a strike-rate of 86. Raut isn't accelerating as much; he is batting on 32 off 58 deliveries. Odisha 175 for 4 in the 44th over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Abhinav Mukund, the opener, is five runs away from a century. If he gets there, it will be his first in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season. He has hit two half-centuries so far in the tournament. After 35 overs, Tamil Nadu is 192 for 2. Vijay Shankar is batting on 62.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | Haryana is two wickets away from being bowled out. H. V. Patel was the last batsman to be dismissed, for a duck. S. P. Kumar is batting on 33; A. R. Mishra is the new batsman.

Andhra vs Jharkhand | For Andhra, D. B. Prashanth Kumar has been dismissed, for 56. Opener Kranthi Kumar is batting on 72, and Ricky Bhui, the captain and wicketkeeper, has joined him in the middle. It's 141 for 2 after 33 overs.

Team Rajasthan vs Bihar | At the K. L. Saini Stadium in Jaipur, Team Rajasthan is 163 for 5 after 39 overs. The openers were unseparated until the 23rd over, when Chetan Bist fell for 49 to Md. Sarfaraz Ashraf. A minor collapse followed; the team lost four more wickets for 56 runs. R. K. Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar have added nine runs for the sixth wicket. Opener Y. B. Kothari is so far the only batsman to have scored a half-century.

Railways vs Tripura | At the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground in Jaipur, U. U. Bose and Milind have added 74 runs for the fourth wicket for Tripura. Bose is batting on 72; he's hit five fours and two sixes in his knock. Karn Sharma and Harsh Tyagi have taken one wicket each.

Andhra vs Jharkhand | D. B. Prashanth Kumar has reached a half-century, off 71 deliveries. At the Alur grounds in Bengaluru, Andhra is 129 for 1 in the 31st over. Giving Prashanth Kumar company is Kranthi Kumar, who is batting on 66.

Kerala vs Goa | Now, Sachin Baby reaches a half-century, off 68 deliveries. After 30 overs, Kerala is 193 for 2. Darshan Misal has taken the only wicket to have been claimed by a bowler. Opener Robin Uthappa was dismissed obstructing the field.

Kerala vs Goa | Century for Sanju Samson, off 66 deliveries. He has hit 14 fours and three sixes, and is batting on 106. His partner Sachin Baby is seven runs away from a half-century. Sachin has been comparatively slow; he has a strike-rate of 68.75.

Punjab vs Uttar Pradesh | Punjab is 82 for 5 after 24 overs at the GSFC Ground in Vadodara. Gurkeerat Mann is batting on 20, and giving him company is Karan Kaila (10 n.o.). Ankit Rajpoot, the fast bowler, and Saurabh Kumar, a left-arm spinner, have taken two wickets each.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | Saurashtra has crossed a half-century. Prerak Mankad and Chirag Jani have put on 20 runs for the seventh wicket. It's 57 for 6 after 22 overs, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Kerala vs Goa | Sanju Samson and Sachin Baby have now put on 101 runs for the third wicket. At the Alur grounds in Bengaluru, Kerala is 133 for 2 in the 23rd over. Samson is scoring at a rapid rate; batting on 82, he has a strike-rate of 154.72. He has hit 11 fours and two sixes so far.

Maharashtra vs Haryana | At the Darshanam Sports and Education Academy, Vadodara, Haryana is struggling at for 71 for 6. S. S. Bacchav has four wickets. From 57 for 2, the team lost four wickets for five runs.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | Prasidh Krishna is breathing fire with the ball. He cleans up Vasavada for his third wicket of the match and Karnataka pacers are all over Saurashtra at the moment. Saurashtra 29 for 5 after 12.4 overs.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Baba Aparajith falls for two. Mukund has been joined by in-form batsman Vijay Shankar. Tamil Nadu could use a partnership here. TN 60 for 2 after 14.3 overs.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | Saurashtra continues to lose wickets at the top of the order: V Koushik now gets Samarth Vyas and K. Makwana out in quick succession to leave Saurashtra tottering at 19 for 4.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | M. Vijay departs after a rather brisk start, Ishwar Pandey getting the breakthrough. Vijay hit four boundaries during his 20-ball 24. Baba Aparajith joins Mukund. TN 46 for 1 after 10 overs.

Vidarbha vs Odisha | Yash Thakur continues to earn early breakthroughs with the new ball: gets opener Shantanu Mishra caught by Faiz Fazal for a golden duck. Odisha 20 for 1 after 7 overs.

Madhya Pradesh vs Tamil Nadu | Abhinav Mukund and M. Vijay are off to a steady start. Tamil Nadu is 14 for no loss after 4.3 Overs.

Saurashtra vs Karnataka | M. Prasidh has snapped up both openers to leave Saurashtra reeling at 9/2. Himalaya was dismissed for a four-ball duck whereas Sheldon Jackson holed out to B. R. Sharath for just 2. Saurashtra. 9 for 2 after 3 Overs.
