Everton has agreed a deal to sign Yerry Mina, the defender leaving Barcelona after an unhappy six-month spell in LaLiga.
Mina joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in January for €11.8 million but the centre-back could not unseat Samuel Umtiti or Gerard Pique in the team. He then fell even further down the pecking order when Barca brought in Clement Lenglet for €35 million in July.
Mina, a Colombia international who scored three goals at the World Cup, started four league games as Barcelona won the LaLiga title. But he struggled to really establish himself in those outings and had been linked with a move away from Camp Nou since the end of last season.
Manchester United had been strongly linked with Mina as well, but Everton appear to have got the deal over the line, with Barca announcing the agreement shortly before the Premier League's transfer deadline.
Should the deal go through, Everton will pay Barca an initial €30.25 million, plus potentially another €1.5 million in variables. Barca also have a buy-back option on the 23-year-old.
