Fans need more than a ticket to watch FIFA World Cup

All valid match ticket holders need to possess a Fan ID in order to enter the stadiums hosting the matches. A valid ticket without a Fan ID will be treated as null and void. Along with a stadium entry, a Fan ID can also be used as a valid entry/exit document along with a valid passport. A Fan ID also ensures a comfortable stay at the match venue and entitles its holder to free travel in the host cities on match days.

The Russian authorities have introduced 'Fan ID', a mandatory identification document for fans for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia. All valid match ticket holders need to possess a Fan ID in order to enter the stadiums hosting the matches. A valid ticket without a Fan ID will be treated as null and void.

Along with a stadium entry, a Fan ID can also be used as a valid entry/exit document along with the fan's valid passport. A separate visa isn't necessary for the fans. A Fan ID also ensures a comfortable stay at the match venue and entitles its holder to free travel in the host cities on match days.

A Fan ID holder can enter Russia from 00:00 hours on June 4 to 23:59 hours on July 15, 2018 (local time of arrival). Exit is possible from 00:00 on June 4 to 23:59 July 25, 2018 (local time of departure).

A Fan ID is only issued to ticket holders and the ticket number/ticket application number is required when filling the Fan ID form along with a valid passport number.
