India 105th in the latest FIFA rankings

The team ended the year on the 105th spot; Germany leads the rankings to be FIFA’s Team of the Year.

India has ended the year at the 105th, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday. The team, which did not play any international match in this ranking period, has 320 points in its kitty.

India began the year in the 129th spot before breaking into the top 100 in July; its 96th spot - the second best ever after the 94th of February 1996.

Among Asian countries, the Indian team is in the 15th spot, just below Qatar, but ahead of the likes of Jordan, Bahrain and North Korea. Iran (overall 32nd) leads the rankings among Asian countries, followed by Australia (38th) and Japan (57th).

World champion Germany ended on top to be FIFA’s ‘Team of the Year’, followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France and Chile.
