KRYHPSA continued its unbeaten run in the Hero Indian Women’s League with a 2-0 win over India Rush at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, on Monday.

Captain Bala Devi led from the front as she gave her side the lead in the 21st minute through a header, before she doubled the lead in the 61st minute. The win takes KRYHPSA to 7 points from its three matches, while India Rush is yet to open its account.

KRYHPSA dominated the tie all throughout in this largely one-sided contest. The early minutes saw the trio of Dangmei Grace, Bala Devi and Bindyarani split open the India Rush defensive line, but their poor finishing prevented them from taking the lead.

The breakthrough arrived in the 21st minute when Ranjana delivered an inch perfect cross to Devi, who headed home from a close range to open the scoring. Bindya came close to scoring in the 30th minute when Devi’s shot came off the post.

A hapless India Rush looked on as the Manipuri side mounted a series of attacks. Bindyarani saw her shot brush the post as KRYHPSA failed to extend its lead before the break.

The game continued in a similar fashion in the second half as Grace tormented the Indian Rush defence from the right. Her runs, along with Devi in the middle, provided some nervous moments at the back.

India Rush finally registered its first shot on goal when Grace Lalrampari struck the bar post in the 58th minute. But that was just a flash in the pan as KRYHPSA continued its dominant ways and Devi scored her second goal in the 61st minute.

Devi almost got her hattrick in the 64th minute, but her attempt was cleared off the line. Bindyarani, too, was denied a goal when Aditi Chauhan made a fine save in the 80th minute.

KRYHPSA is now slated to face Eastern Sporting Union on April 4th, while India Rush will take on Sethu FC on the same day.
