C. K. Vineeth: Owe my success to Sunil Chhetri

Bengaluru FC forward C.K. Vineeth has been an unsung hero for the Blues this season. He has credited all his success to skipper Sunil Chhetri for his fine displays this season which saw the club lift the I-League trophy this year.

Bengaluru FC beat Salgaocar 2-0 to lift its second I-League title in three years and Vineeth has been an integral part of the squad scoring four goals along the way.

“Sunil always has been special to me. When Bengaluru FC contacted me, I called him up first to seek his guidance. He's like an elder brother to me and I always feel free to go to him as he always helps us out with a smiling face. I would rate Sunil as one of the best captains I have played under and I am looking forward to learn a lot from him,” said the 27-year-old forward from Kerala.

Bengaluru FC is on course for to win a treble this year as the club is still very much in the contention in the AFC Cup and it will also begin the defence of its Federation Cup title, starting later this month.

Speaking on the long season ahead C.K. Vineeth said, “This is a very crucial period of the season right now. We are taking one step at a time as all the tournaments as equally important for us. We are looking forward to an exciting time and I have full faith in the team.”

Bengaluru FC will travel to Siliguri to face Mohun Bagan where it will lift the I-League trophy as champion of the 2015-16 season.
