Skipper Soumya Guguloth recorded a hat-trick to power Kenkre FC to a 4-1 victory over Odisha Police in the Hero Indian Women’s League football tournament, at Bangalore Football Stadium here on Saturday. Samiksha added to the Mumbai club’s tally, while Jabamani Soren scored a late consolation goal for Odisha Police.

In another match, Baroda FC cruised past BBK DAV 3-0. After a goalless first-half, Baroda FC got on the scoresheet through an own goal. Akanksha Kandalkar’s cross arrived at an awkward height for Baroda FC defender Mahima Bishnoi, whose half-hearted clearance attempt deflected into her own goal.

Sushmita Lepcha added a second, outmuscling her marker on a powerful run and finishing cleanly with her preferred left-foot. Akanksha then made a highlight play to put Baroda FC 3-0 ahead - curling a free-kick from well outside the box into the top corner. BBK DAV custodian Monika was rooted to her spot, failing to make any attempt to cover ground and stop the shot.

The results: Kenkre FC 4 (Soumya Guguloth 25, 39, 69, Samiksha 45) bt Odisha Police
1 (Jabamani Soren 87); Baroda FC 3 (Mahima Bishnoi-og 47, Sushmita Lepcha 63, Akanksha Kandalkar 77) bt BBK DAV 0.
