A tradition will be broken on Saturday, when Ray Wilkins’ widow, Jackie, will present the FA Cup trophy to the winner at Wembley.

As a practice, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, is supposed to hand over the trophy to winner of the FA Cup final. But with the Duke becoming the best man to his brother, Prince Harry, for his wedding to Meghan Markle in Windsor, he will give the fixture between Manchester United and Chelsea a miss.

Prince William has been the president of the Football Association since 2006 and usually presents the medals and trophy.

“The Duke of Cambridge will not be attending the FA Cup final due to his responsibilities as best man at his brother's wedding,” the British media quoted a Kensington Palace spokesperson as saying.

The Royal wedding is being attended by sporting stars David Beckham, Serena Williams, among others.
