Karnataka, MP, Punjab win in Senior Women’s National Hockey

Karnataka registered its second consecutive win to remain in contention for a quarterfinal berth.

Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, Maharashtra and Punjab registered wins in their respective pool matches on the third day of the ninth Senior Women’s National Championship (Division A) here on Sunday.

In Pool A, Karnataka registered its second consecutive win by beating Hockey Coorg 3-0. It not only retained its second position in its pool with six points but is also in contention for a quarterfinal berth.

In Pool B, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy secured a 3-1 win over Hockey Bhopal to bag its second victory in as many games, while Maharashtra thrashed Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 6-0 in a Pool C game.

Punjab later defeated Kerala Hockey 3-0 in a Pool D match for its second win.
