The crowd at the Tau Devilal Sports Complex in Panchkula, on Thursday, was witness to two new records being set.  Puneri Paltan edged past Telugu Titans 53-50 in a pulsating contest that saw the teams set a new record for the highest tally of points in a single match.

The teams broke a three-year old record of 101 points set by Patna Pirates and Dabang Delhi. On 25th February, 2016, at the Thaygaraj Sports Complex in Delhi, Patna cruised to a dominating 67-34 over Delhi. Rohit Kumar, with 16 points, starred for Patna with Sandeep Narwal chipping in with 11 points. For Delhi, Surjeet Singh and Kashiling Adake 10 and 12 points, respectively.

Match 119 of PKL 2019 was also the first occasion when both the teams involved scored fifty or more points in the same match.

Puneri Paltan came into the match with nothing to lose as it had crashed out of the playoffs race, but it was a must-win match for Titans in order to stay in contention for the same. In the end, it was Rakesh Kumar's Puneri Paltan that had the last laugh.
