Hello and welcome to Sportstar’s coverage of the ProKabaddi fixture between Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Paltans consolidate their position on top of the table as the Titans, despite a stellar defensive showing, fall short due to an abysmal raiding performance.

Scores read Pune vs Titans:

38-25 ANOTHER SUPER TACKLE TO FINISH THE MATCH. 14 Super tackle points to the Titans but that was not enough because the raiders were a big flop.

38-23 Akash Shinde gets a quick touch on Parvesh Bhainswal

37-23 Sanket Sawant halts Adarsh in the middle

36-23 ANOTHER SUPER TACKLE. Parvesh Bhainswal initiates this one on Aslam Inamdar. They have been so lethal in defense today. What a pity that this did not come through consistently in the previous games.

36-21 ANOTHER SUPER TACKLE as the two men on the mat, Vijay Kumar and Adarsh T almost constrict Pankaj Mohite a few inches away from the midline.

36-19 Fazel gets another point as Abhishek is stopped in his tracks.

35-19 SUPER TACKLE. Akash Shinde is brought down with Adarsh initiating that tackle. They’ve been good on the super tackles today; say what you will about the raiding.

35-17 SUPER RAID for Akash Shinde and Fazel loves it as he embraces him on his return. Muhammed Shihas, Mohsen Maghsoudlou, Prince D all have to head to the bench from that right flank

FIVE MINUTES REMAIN AND PUNE IS STARING AT A BIG WIN AS THINGS STAND

32-17 Adarsh gets a touch on Sanket Sawant.

32-16 Looks like Aslam got a touch on the corner defender on the left - Prince. Referees don’t give it. Pune reviews. Review is unsuccessful. Super tackle to the Titans. Fazel is not fussed.

32-14 Pankaj gets a big kick on Parvesh Bhainswal and he is not happy about that.

31-14 Another failed do-or-die raid for Abhishek Singh. Pankaj Mohite brings him down as he also runs out of time

A sixteen point lead for Puneri Paltan. Titans have 10 minutes to give Fazel and his boys a reason to sweat.

30-14 Aslam removes Vishal Bhardwaj

29-14 Pune is winning this in its sleep as it stands as the defense led by Fazel brings down Adarsh.

28-14 Aslam manages a bonus point.

27-14 Sombir’s slippery ankle hold costs him his spot on the mat. Adarsh T the raider for this play.

27-13 Akash Shinde is brought down thanks to a combination tackle from Vishal and the right corner.

27-12 Mohsen takes out Pankaj. Much work to do for the Titans

27-11 SECOND ALL OUT INFLICTED BY PUNE. One defender steps out while Pankaj gets the other two. Brilliant raiding from Puneri Paltan.

22-11 Abhishek Singh is brought down in a do-or-die raid.

21-11 Akash Shinde continues to chip away with a touch on Mohsen on the right

20-11 Ankit is out of bounds. A simple point to Pune

19-11 Fazel is back as Pankaj Mohite draws an error from Prince D and gets a point

18-11 Adarsh gets Fazel Atrachali

18-10 WHAT A WAY TO RESTART. Aslam Inamdar is almost brought down on the right corner by the two defenders but he struggles and struggles and gets out of the hold and gets to the midline. What a talent, this man. ALL OUT INFLICTED.

HALFTIME: A four-point lead for the table toppers. Pune is happy with the low-scoring game and happy to keep the lead as they don’t take too many risks ahead of the halftime whistle. Titans’ lead raider - Abhishek Singh has struggled and Pune will want to step on the gas and take better advantage of that. Pune is getting the wins but this might be a chance to stamp their authority on the game and help their point difference a little. However, this Titans side is no bunch of pushovers. They have been brilliant on the super tackle but need to neaten their raiding a little more to keep Pune guessing. Fazel’s side is known to experience momentum dips in the second half and the Titans must use that to try and test the Paltan.

14-10 Paltan bring down Adarsh T. The skipper - Fazel - comes in with the block.

13-10 Ankit unsuccesfully goes for Pankaj’s legs and he jumps over the defender to safety.

12-10 Points leveled? NO. Because a defender is out of bounds and guess who it is - Parvesh Bhainswal! Titans review the decision but the replays reinforce the official decision.

11-10 Adarsh T has a touch on Aslam Inamdar. They’re crawling back to find parity here, the Titans and the home crowd has their back.

11-9 SUPER TACKLE. Titans have been using the super tackle to their advantage here as Ankit triggers a takedown of Pankaj Mohite

11-7 Aslam Inamdar removes Vishal Bhardwaj.

10-7 Abhishek Singh botches up the do-or-die raid as he runs out of time. Hint of nervousness is evident in all these errors seen today.

9-7 Pankaj Mohite steps out of bounds. His speed can be hard on him too!

9-6 Point gifted to Puneri Paltan as Prince D steps out of the mat. Poor from the defenders today in general in terms of mat awareness. HOWEVER, referees have gone back as Prince is found to be on that white line still.

9-6 Iranian gets Iranian. Mohsen takes out Fazel

No do-or-die raids so far in the first 10 minutes.

9-5 Pankaj Mohite is not taking the foot of the pedal. He picks up Parvesh Bhainswal on the left corner.

8-5 COLLISION! Parvesh Bhainswal and Aslam Inamdar collide and it’s their heads too as Aslam is brought down on the right flanks. Super tackle for Titans!

8-3 Sanket Sawant in action yet again on the right as Adarsh T is turned around and taken down. Titans down to three men

7-3 Aslam Inamdar gets Vishal and the points keep coming for Pune.

6-3 Sanket Sawant comes in and sends Abhishek out. Abhishek was targeting Fazel but the right circles him and crushes him out.

5-3 Akash Shinde is brought down deep in the right corner. He was slower than usual and went in far too deep looking for a point. Titans happy to capitalise.

5-2 There comes the hand touch from Abhishek Singh and Abinesh Nadarajan has to go the bench

5-1 Prince D creeps up behind Pankaj Mohite but he slips out and runs to safety

4-1 Adarsh T is brought down by Sanket Sawant

3-1 Swift raiding from Aslam Inamdar as he gets a touch on Ankit

2-1 Adarsh removes Pankaj Mohite with a big kick. Clinical. First points for Telugu Titans tonight.

2-0 Aslam Inamdar gets a bonus to his name

1-0 Abhishek Singh is taken out in his first attempt. The covers coming good from the right to dash him out

0-0 Both teams begin with a bunch of empty raids.

Puneri Paltan won the toss and Titans will raid first.
