One of the biggest losses to broadcast media and cricket viewers around the world was Kapil Dev's epic knock of 175 against Zimbabwe at Tunbridge in the 1983 World Cup.
Only a few thousands were lucky to watch the innings which Dev's former teammate Sunil Gavaskar regarded as 'the greatest innings' he has ever seen.
Through actor Ranveer Singh's upcoming biopic '83', where he portrays the role of India's first World Cup-winning captain, it appears that the innings will be recreated on the silver screen.
Ranveer took to Twitter to share an image from the movie in which the actor is playing a one-legged hook shot or what is also called the 'Natraj' shot.
Sportstar dug into its rich archive to pull out the all-rounder's hook shot against England's Ian Botham at the Lord's in 1982, a year before the World Cup triumph, which looks identical to Ranveer's effort.
The cricketer took to the social media site to commend the actor for replicating the look and the iconic shot.
