Hello and welcome to the LIVE updates from day one action of Korea Open.

4:30pm: At the end of Day 1 of Korea Open, only Saina Nehwal has survived in the singles competition. Sameer Verma and Vaishnavi Reddy lost their singles matches to bow out.

4:22pm: It's all over for Sameer Verma in the first round of Korea Open. He loses to Denmark's Anders Antonsen 15-21, 21-16, 21-7.

4:05pm: Sameer tried his best to make a comeback and is decently successful. He won five consecutive to make it 16-19, but the Dane has managed to hold on and win the second game 21-16.

4:00pm: Sameer Verma has completely lost the plot against the Dane in the second game. Antonsen has built himself a comfortable 19-11 lead.

3:50pm: A bit of a setback for World No. 22 Sameer in the second game. He trails the World No. 17 8-11 at the midway stage.

3:40pm: Sameer Verma wins the first game 21-15 against Denmark's Anders Antonsen.  While Sameer and Antonsen were going neck-and-neck until the midpoint at 12-12, the Indian raced ahead with three consecutive points and never looked back. He further strengthened his lead with another four-point run to take the first game away from the Dane.

2:12pm: The US shuttler is running away with the match as she gets the momentum going with a 11-6 lead in the second game. Zhang takes 19 minutes to beat Reddy in straight games 21-10, 21-9.

2:05pm: Vaishnavi Reddy's first round match against USA's Beiwen Zhang gets underway. Not the kind of start, Reddy would have expected as she concedes the first game 10-21.

10:54am: Saina Nehwal storms into round-of-16 with a convincing 21-12, 21-11 win over Korea's Kim Hyo Min.

10:38am: Saina doesn't seem to be in any kind of trouble as she comfortably sits with a 11-6 lead in the second game. But can't afford to relax with a possibility of the Korean striking back.

10:32am: Saina walks away with the first game 21-12. She didn't give the Korean shuttler a chance for making a comeback.

10:13am: Saina Nehwal's Round one match against Korea's Kim Hyo Min gets underway. Dominating start by the Indian ace shuttler, as she goes to the interval of the first game with a 11-3 lead.
