Stephen Curry keen to build momentum as Steve Kerr reaches milestone with Warriors

The Golden State Warriors is on a 10-game winning streak in the NBA, yet Stephen Curry is adamant there is still more to come.

Stephen Curry believes the Golden State Warriors can "still get better," despite reaching 10 wins in a row by beating the Boston Celtics on Saturday.

The defending NBA champion extended its unbeaten run with a 115-111 triumph on the road, Kevin Durant leading the way with 33 points and nine rebounds to help his team improve to 35-14 on the season.

A dramatic finish saw the Warriors break a 111-111 tie with a pair of free throws from Klay Thompson, with the Celtics missing three opportunities to either tie the score or take the lead in the closing seconds.

Curry, who scored 24 himself, was pleased to keep the winning streak alive — but warned the rest of the league that the Warriors have room for improvement.

"It hasn't been perfect and we know we can still be better," he told the media. "We've talked about putting a run together for a while now and we're right in the middle of a really good one.

"You want to create good vibes, especially with the All-Star break coming up, and continue to build momentum the second half of the season."

One of the best teams

Golden State's triumph also marked the 300th victory in Steve Kerr's coaching career. He needed just 377 games to reach the milestone, easily breaking Pat Riley's NBA record (416) in the process.

Kerr was quick to praise the Celtics for their performance in a clash between two teams who many feel may meet in the Finals now that LeBron James is no longer with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

"They're one of the best teams in the league," he said of the Celtics. "They're great defensively and they've got dynamic offensive players that are already one of the best, so it'll be interesting to see this year with LeBron out of the East who comes out of the East, and we got a lot of work to do to also get out of the West.

"[There are] a lot of great teams this year. I think the league is better this year than it's been in a long time. ... A lot of great teams, but Boston is clearly a great two-way team, and that's what it takes in the playoffs."
