5:12 pm: A good day for the Indian contingent. India claimed three gold medals among other podium finishes on day five of the Commonwealth Games.

5:05 pm: Saina does it for India! India mixed-team badminton side wins gold! No mistakes in the third game from Saina as she goes on a 10-point streak to win the match 21-11, 19-21, 21-9.

4:59pm: Saina take a 11-9 lead at the break as the match heads to a nail-biting finish.

4:46 pm: The Malaysian recovers and how! Soniia with an impressive effort to stay in this match and takes the second game 21-19.

4:34 pm: A break in play here as Soniia gets tended to for an injury to her right hand. Saina leads the second game 13-11. The Indian is pacing around the court in wait.

4:30 pm: Saina edges ahead 11-10 at the break as India inches towards another gold.

4:17 pm: Saina takes the first game 21-11 after a thrilling turnaround which saw her go on a 12-point reverse

4:11 pm:GOLD for India in Men's Table Tennis as it beats Nigeria 3-0 in the final! This is the second gold for India after Jitu Rai earlier in the day.

4:08 pm: An evenly fought contest so far but Soniia edges ahead to a 11-9 lead.

3:57 pm: Its Saina Nehwal's turn to seal the gold for India as she takes on Soniia Cheah in singles action.

3:51 pm: Malaysia has not thrown in the towel yet! The Indian duo throws away the lead in the second game to lose 21-15, 22-20 in a thrilling tie. India still holds a 2-1 lead in the final.

3:38 pm: Satwiksairaj and Shetty start the second game in the front foot and take a 11-7 lead at the break.

3:29 pm: Life left in Malaysian fight in the final as it takes the first game 21-15. 

3:20 pm: The Malaysian duo of V Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan leads 11-8 at the break.

3:10 pm: Satwiksairaj is back again for the men's double match this time with Chirag Shetty. A win in this tie will give India's second gold medal of the day.

3:03 pm: On another front, the Indian men's table tennis team leads Nigeria 1-0 with Sharath Kamal winning the first match 3-1.

3:00 pm: A thunderous overhead smash from Kidambi Srikanth to win the second game and beat Chong Wei Lee 21-17 21-14. India now holds a 2-0 lead against Malaysia in the team badminton final.

2:50 pm: Kidambi Srikanth is completely dominating Chong Wei Lee, who he leads 11-5 in the second game.

2:39 pm: Kidambi Srikanth wins the first game 21-17 against Chong Wei Lee.

2:35 pm: The men's team table tennis final featuring India is being played simultaneously as the team badminton final.

2:28 pm: Kidambi Srikanth leads his Malaysian opponent 11-8 at the halfway stage in the first game.

2:16 pm: Kidambi Srikanth and Chong Wei Lee are warming up for the men's singles match!

2:10 pm: S. Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa fight back to give India a crucial lead. The pair beats Malaysia 21-14 15-21 21-15.

2:04 pm: The Indian pair being egged on by a large Indian crowd and S. Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa have raised their game since the break in the third game. The Indian pair now leads 16-13.

1:58 pm: Malaysia leads India 11-7 in the third game. Its approach has remained the same from the second game and it's paying off.

1:43 pm: A strong comeback from Malaysia, which takes the second game 21-15. Its aggression paid off big time!

1:30 pm: India and Malaysia matching each other shot for shot, and Malaysia has come back strongly after losing the first game. It leads India 11-7 in the second game.

1:20 pm: India takes the first game 21-14. The Indian pair took an early lead and then maintained the pressure on its Malaysian opponent to go 1-0 up in the match.

1:13 pm: Weightlifter Gurdeep Singh is currently competing in the men's 105kg weightlifting.

1:11 pm: India leads the first game 11-7.

1:01 pm: The much-awaited time of the day is here and we have Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa (IND) ready to take on the Malaysian pair of CHAN and GOH!

Before the Indian badminton team takes on Malaysia in the gold-medal match, a look at the latest medal table:

12:24 pm: The men's team table tennis match between Singapore and England for the bronze medal is about to get underway.

12:13 pm: Samoa's Feagaiga Stowers has clinched gold in women's +90kg weightlifting. India's Purnima Yadav finished sixth.

12:00 pm: Sprinter Purnima Das has qualified for the women's 400m semifinals with a time of 52.11 seconds.

11:25 am: Purnima Pandey has successfully lifted 110kg, 115kg and 118kg in the women's 90kg weightlifting. She is currently top of the standings!

The final of men's team table tennis, featuring India, will begin at 2pm IST.

The final of the mixed team badminton, in which India will take on Singapore, is coming up at 1pm IST.

10:30 am: Tejaswin Shankar has entered the high jump final with a 2.28m jump in qualification.

10:00 am: India has now won 17 medals, including eight gold, four silver and five bronze.

9:40 am: Smit Singh has qualified for the men's skeet final, after finishing fifth in qualification with 115 points.

9:33 am: Mehuli Gosh wins silver, while defending champion Apurvi Chandela wins bronze in women's 10m air rifle.

9:25 am: India's Apurvi Chandela and Mehuli Ghosh have progressed to the final of women's 10m air rifle.

9:20 am: Manish Kaushik has entered the quarterfinals of men's 60kg boxing, after defeat Trinidad and Tobago's Michael Alexander.

9:05 am: Virdhawal Khade finishes sixth in heats clocking 23.11 seconds and fails to qualify for the semifinals of men's 50m freestyle.

9:00 am: Indian boxer Gaurav Solanki has entered the quarterfinals of the men’s flyweight (52kg) category, defeating Akimos Annang Ampiah of Ghana by a unanimous verdict.

8:45 am: National record holder Tejaswin Shankar has advanced to the final of the Commonwealth Games high jump, after finishing a joint-fifth in group A and ninth overall.

The headline news of the day so far is Jitu Rai winning gold in men's 10m air pistol! The Indian shooter made a new CWG record of 235.1 in the final. Also, Pardeep Singh has clinched silver in the men's 105kg weightlifting with a total lift of 352kg (152kg snatch + 200kg clean and jerk).
