India international Deepti Sharma has been nominated for the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for best women cricketer (senior domestic) in the 2017-18 season. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) — the State association Deepti represents at the domestic level — about her nomination.

The award comprises a trophy and cash prize of ₹1.5 lakhs.

The CAB has also been nominated for the Best Overall Performance Award for the consistency of its senior and junior cricket teams (men and women) in the domestic tournaments of the board for the 2017-18 season.

'Matter of satisfaction'

Both the awards would be conferred at the BCCI Annual Awards to be held in Bengaluru on June 12.

“The fact that we recently got the best pitch and ground awards for the domestic season as well as the IPL, and now the Best overall Performance Award for consistency is not only a matter of satisfaction but it also shows that Bengal Cricket is heading in the right direction,” CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya said.
