Good afternoon and welcome to Sportstar 's live coverage of Irani Cup clash between Ranji Trophy champion Vidarbha and Rest of India.

4:50 pm That is it. Akshay Wakhare sends a straighter one, Ankit Rajpoot misses it, and the ball disturbs the timber. Rest of India folds for 330. Akshay Wakhare ends with 3/62 while Aditya Sarwate returns with figures of 3/99.

4:37pm Rest of India loses its ninth wicket as Rahul Chahar departs for 22. Rajneesh Gurbani bowls Chahar, who completely misses the line. ROI 305/9.

4:32pm WICKET - Faiz Fazal takes a good catch to dismiss Hanuma Vihari. Aditya Sarwate takes his third wicket. Vihari departs for 114 off 211 balls.

3:54pm Hanuma Vihari scores a century! 101 n.o. off 188 balls.

3:31 PM: WICKET - Aditya Sarwate strikes as Rest of India loses its seventh wicket. Tossed up delivery, Jadeja goes for a slog, the ball turns after pitching, passes through the gate to castle the stumps.

3:12 PM: WICKET - ROI loses sixth wicket Gowtham caught in the deep going for a big hit.  Wakhare gets his second wicket.  ROI 244/6

3:11 PM:   Great session for Vidarbha they have picked up four wickets to reduce ROI to 234 for five.  Ishan Kishan holes out to Gurbani off Wakhare for two. Earlier the ambidextrous Akshay Karnewar traps the dangerous S.Iyer leg before for 19. The spinners have brought Vidarbha back in reckoning.

2:41 PM: Vidarbha has bounced back and in good fashion as they were able to pick wickets and most importantly got the prized scalp of Ajinkya Rahane. Hanuma Vihari is well-set in the middle and is looking in good touch. Will be back in 20 minutes.

2:40 PM: WICKET - The fifth wicket falls and Hanuma Vihari is losing partners as this time it's Ishan Kishan who falls at the stroke of Tea. ROI 234/5

2:29 PM: WICKET - Karnewar traps Shreyas Iyer as Rest of India loses its fourth wicket. Pitched in line, straightened up a bit and that was enough to convince the umpire. Iyer got a start but failed to convert it. ROI 231/4

1:54 PM: Our correspondent, M. R. Praveen Chandran updates: Reward for Sarwate. Rahane nibbles at one and Sanjay Ramaswamy at gully juggles with the ball and finally cups  it. Rahane dismissed for 13.

1:50 PM: WICKET- Ajinkya Rahane departs and it's Aditya Sarwate who has got the big fish. Rahane lunges forward with an intention to defend but decides to open the face of the bat only to find an outside edge. ROI 186/3

1:37 PM: The wicket of Mayank Agarwal has helped Vidarbha stem the run flow and bowl some tight overs. Ajinkya Rahane has struggled to get going and the lack of strike rotation has stalled Hanuma Vihari's progress as well. Rest of India 179 for two, Rahane's batting on 7 and Vihari is on 53.

1:06 PM: Our correspondent, M. R. Praveen Chandran updates: Finally some reward for Yash Thakur who gets the breakthrough. Mayank departs for 95 caught by Gurbani at mid off.

1:01 PM: WICKET- Much needed breakthrough and Mayank Agarwal departs for 95. A century was in the taking but Mayank throws it away as he commits himself to a full blooded drive, checks his shot at the last minute but the ball travels straight to the fielder at mid-off. ROI 171/2. Ajinkya Rahane is the new man in.

12:56 PM: Our correspondent, M. R. Praveen Chandran updates:   Vihari reaches 50 after smashing Sarwate for a six and two fours. ROI cantering at nearly 4.5 runs per over.

12:55 PM: Fifty for Hanuma Vihari - Brilliant batting and Vihari has been in sublime form. He first tonks Aditya Sarwate for a six straight over the bowler's head and then whips through the mid-wicket for a boundary and then finds the deep point boundary to get to his fifty. The wicket has eased up and both batsmen are well-set in what will be a good session for batting. ROI 169/1

12:44 PM: The 100-run partnership between Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari is up and the has brought all the experience into play to lay a foundation. Vidarbha in desperate need for a breakthrough. ROI 147/1

12:40 PM: We are back from Lunch and both Hanuma Vihari and Mayank Agarwal are all set to resume charge. Yash Thakur will start proceedings for Vidarbha and it will be Mayank on strike.

12:00 PM: Lunch on Day one - Excellent session for Rest of India and it's Mayank Agarwal who has set the tone with an unbeaten 82 and along with Hanuma Vihari has laid the foundation. The Karnataka batsman is all set to reach three figures and has looked authoritative right from the start of the innings. Vidarbha managed to pack off Anmolpreet Singh but were guilty of letting off both Mayank and Hanuma on a couple of occasions. We will be back in 40 minutes for the second session.  ROI 142/1

12:38 PM: Our correspondent, M. R. Praveen Chandran updates: At lunch ROI sitting  pretty at 142 for one off 34 overs. Mayank Agarwal unbeaten on 82 and Vihari on 36. The two have added 96 for second wicket. Vidarbha spinners have induced false strokes from both the batsmen but still haven't  got the breakthrough.

11:40 AM: SIX - The first of the match and it's beautifully hit by Mayank Agarwal. Dances down the track, gets to the pitch of the ball and lofts Aditya Sarwate over the mid-off and the ball travels the distance. He is looking good and is poised for a well-deserved hundred. ROI 116/1

11:33 AM: Hanuma Vihari reviews and that's Not Out. Aditya Sarvate makes Vihari play for the turn, the ball takes the outside edge and Faiz Fazal at first slip takes a low catch but it was grassed. Vidarbha was confident but replays suggested Fazal was a touch late as the ball bounced before the Vidarbha skipper collected it. Just couldn't get his fingers underneath the ball. Good review by Hanuma. ROI 107/1

11:30 AM: 100 on the board for ROI. Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari bring up the 100 for ROI.

11:10 AM: Fifty for Mayank Agarwal - 23rd first-class fifty for Mayank Agarwal and he has looked solid right from the start. Nudges one towards point and collects a quick single. ROI 85/1.

11:00 AM: Mayank Agarwal has looked solid and so as Hanuma Vihari as Rest of India march ahead after the dismissal of Anmolpreet Singh. Both spinners have bowled just five overs on a pitch that won't help them, at least on Day one and two. Agarwal approaches his half-century. ROI 74/1

Praveen Chandran updates: Rajneesh Gurbani after looking so ordinary  brings one in and cleans up Anmolpreet Singh.  ROI loses first wicket.  Anmolpreet b Gurbani 15. ROI 46 for one.  Mayank Agarwal 28 not out. Hanuma Vihari in and two national players out in the middle.

10:13 AM: WICKET - Rajneesh Gurbani strikes and despite being erratic he has provided Vidarbha an early breakthrough. Anmolpreet Singh pays the price for playing across the line and the ball hits the top of off-stump. Bowler's delight. Hanuma Vihari is the new man in.ROI 46/1

09:57 AM: Good start by the Rest of India openers as Mayank Agarwal and Anmolpreet Singh haven't been bothered much by the Vidarbha bowlers on a green top. ROI 33/0

9:38 AM: Our correspondent, M. R. Praveen Chandran updates: A green top at the VCA Stadium, but Umesh Yadav has been rested by the defending Ranji Trophy champion.
