Mumbai is set to receive a major boost ahead of its last two games, with the pace-bowling trio of Shardul Thakur, Dhawal Kulkarni and Tushar Deshpande returning in the next Ranji Trophy fixture against defending champion Vidarbha in Nagpur from December 30.

“Shardul (Thakur), Dhawal (Kulkarni) and Tushar (Deshpande) are expected to be back for the next game. We will try to go for two outright wins. The rest is not in our hands,” stand-in captain Siddhesh Lad said after a thrilling draw against Saurashtra on Tuesday.

“We will try to do what is in our hands, even in this match, we put in all our efforts, nowhere did it feel that we were not putting in 100 per cent...but our bowling attack is inexperienced, and we could not take 20 wickets.”

Thakur has been sidelined ever since his hamstring injury recurred during his Test debut against the West Indies in October, Deshpande damaged his hamstring early on in the Ranji season. While, Kulkarni missed the last three games due to an injured ankle.
