Skipper Rajat Bhatia and Saurabh Rawat hammered centuries as Uttarakhand overcame early jitters to put up 290-5 on the first day of its Ranji Trophy campaign against Sikkim.
At the KIIT ground in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, Uttarakhand — put in to bat — lost four wickets for 38, when Bhatia and Rawat stitched a 208-run partnership. While Bhatia returned to the pavilion after being caught by Milind Kumar off Ishwar Chaudhary for 121, Rawat was unbeaten on 115 at stumps. For Sikkim, Chaudhary scalped three wickets, conceding 81 runs.

The Meghalaya and Nagaland fixture turned out to be a high scoring one as the former rode on centuries by Raj Biswa (111) and Yogesh Nagar (166) to finish the day at 338-5 at the MCA Stadium in Shillong.
For Nagaland, Pawan Suwal took 2-61.
In Jorhat, Taruwar Kohli scored a ton as Mizoram reached 219 in the first innings against Manipur. But things did not go too well with Manipur as it lost three wickets for 54 at stumps. Earlier, Kohli played a gritty knock of 100, but found no support from his fellow batsmen. Bishworjit Konthoujam scalped three wickets for Manipur.

While the teams from north-east had a field day, it, however, was a washout in Puducherry. Bihar won the toss and opted to field against the home team, but no play could be possible due to heavy rain.
