Yuvraj Singh missed training with the team on Friday.

Yuvraj Singh was dropped from the Indian limited-overs squads announced for the five-match ODI series and lone Twenty20 against Sri Lanka. The series commences with the first game at Dambulla on August 20.

The team was picked by the selection committee at the team hotel here on Sunday. The chairman M.S.K. Prasad and skipper Virat Kohli were present while the others joined the meeting through a tele-conference.

Along with Yuvraj, Dinesh Karthik and Rishab Pant from previous ODI squads, were omitted. For southpaw Yuvraj, who scored 23 n.o., 22, 4, 14 and 39 in his last five outings, this may well spell the finish-line to a glorious career.

Meanwhile, R. Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, who were part of the Test squad in Sri Lanka, have been rested.

Significantly, Rohit Sharma was named the vice-captain. Among those who made a comeback are K.L. Rahul, Manish Pandey, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel.

Mumbai seamer Shardul Thakur is the only uncapped player in the squad.

The team is as follows: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, K.L. Rahul, Manish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane, Kedar Jadhav, M.S. Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shardul Thakur.
