India opener Rohit Sharma shattered a few records in the fifth and final ODI against Windies at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
The right-handed batsman hit the 200 six of his career to topple Pakistan giant Shahid Afridi. The Indian took 187 innings to achieve the feat, Afridi had taken 195 innings.
Rohit also overtook AB de Villiers (South Africa), who achieved the milestone in 214 innings.
Afridi, however, is still on top when it comes to the number of balls taken. He faced 4,203 balls for his 200 sixes. Rohit spent a longer time in the middle with 8,387 balls.
Rohit is the second Indian to achieve the 200 sixes-mark.
M.S Dhoni still stands tall with 218 sixes to his name in 281 innings.
