David Warner began brightly for Sunrisers Hyderabad after it was put in to bat by Mumbai Indians in Visakhapatnam.

Shikhar Dhawan, the other opener, laid the anchor for a big total, eventually finishing with an unbeaten 82.

Yuvraj Singh scored a quickfire 39, a knock that was praised by Dhawan later.

Offspinner Harbhajan Singh took two wickets of Warner and Kane Williamson, but these were minor setbacks for Sunrisers as it set Mumbai Indians a target of 178.

Seamer Ashish Nehra began confidently with the ball for Sunrisers, removing three top-order batsmen cheaply to put Mumbai Indians under pressure.

Mustafizur Rahman cleaned up the tail, taking three lower order wickets to quell any hopes of a resurgence from Mumbai Indians. Sunrisers collected an 85-run win.

In the second match of the day, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a shaky start with the bat after being inserted in by Gujarat Lions.

Middle-order batsman Shakib Al Hasan rescued the innings with a fighting half-century.

Yusuf Pathan also scored a half-century to lead Knight Riders' rescue. Pathan and Shakib put on an unbeaten partnership of 134 to give their team a chance.

Gujarat Lions opener Brendon McCullum began attackingly, contributing 42 in an attacking stand with Dwayne Smith.

Dwayne Smith was out bowled for 27 in the sixth over.

Middle-order batsman Dinesh Karthik took over the responsibility of guiding Lions towards the target. He scored 51 off 29 balls to provide his team victory with two overs to spare.
