Delhi Daredevils (DD), languishing at the bottom of the table, needed an inspiring performance to lift itself. On Sunday, skipper Zaheer Khan was unavailable to motivate his young side. But Sandeep Sharma wrecked the Daredevils line-up so bad that Zaheer’s presence would have hardly made a difference.

He got rid of Sam Billings in the first over; in his second, he took out DD’s top-scorer Sanju Samson. An over before the Powerplay ended, Sandeep dismissed Shreyas Iyer. Three crucial wickets within six overs shackled the struggling side. Sandeep returned in the 16th over to complete a four-wicket haul and help his team shut out DD for 67.
