The high octane India-Pakistan match here on Sunday will mark Virat Kohli’s 100th Twenty20 international appearance. Kohli is set to become the 14th cricketer to achieve this milestone. India skipper Rohit Sharma leads the charts, with 132 T20I caps.
The batter will also become the second cricketer to play 100 matches in all formats, after New Zealand’s Ross Taylor. Fans will hope that Kohli makes the occasion all the more memorable by racking up the runs to break out of a slump.
Kohli may not have a T20I century, but his average of 50.12 is by far the highest in this elite group. David Miller (104 T20I caps) is next best with an average of 32.4.
Kohli looked in typically good touch at nets here, and won hearts by greeting and interacting with players from other teams. The 33-year-old returns to competitive action here after taking a break.
