Anas Edathodika and Jobby Justin will not be playing the opening game of the season between Kerala Blasters and ATK in Kochi — their home town — on Sunday.
The two new ATK signings will be serving out their carried-forward suspensions. Anas, playing for the Blasters last season, had been handed a red card in a Hero Super Cup contest against Indian Arrows. He will therefore be free to play after Sunday.

Justin, on the other hand, had been suspended for six matches by the AIFF disciplinary committee for an on-field spat in the I-League last season. Playing for East Bengal, Justin had an ugly tiff with Aizawl FC defender Kareem Nurain. Justin has served three of his six-match ban already, and will be eligible for selection from November 9, 2019, onwards.
FC Goa midfielder Ahmed Jahouh will also miss the club's first game — against Chennaiyin FC on October 23 — this season. Jahouh had been sent off in the ISL 2018-19 final.
