Which teams are playing in the Durand Cup today?

ATK Mohun Bagan and Rajasthan United will be in action on the Matchday 5 of the Durand Cup 2022.

A star-studded ATKMB will be at home against Durand Cup debutants Rajasthan United FC (RUFC) in the second match on Saturday.

While ATKMB looks stronger on paper, RUFC has assembled a side full of players who have experience at the top level of Indian football.

Lalremsanga Fanai for example, the RUFC striker, served Aizawl FC with distinction before making the move to Rajasthan. Fellow striker Shaiborlang Kharpan also began from Shillong Lajong, another talent-churner in Indian football, before having stints with Kerala Blasters and Sudeva.

Centre-back Melroy Assisi played for Chennayin FC in the previous season. Winger Surchandra Singh has played with all top clubs of India and moved to RUFC from Real Kashmir FC.

ATKMB thus, will not have it easy, but with a line-up that boasts of India internationals Pritam Kotal, Subhasish Bose, Ashish Rai, Ashique Kuruniyan, Manvir Singh and above all, Liston Colaco, it would be tough for it to not pull of a win.

Some of the best future Indian talents such as Kiyan Nasiri and Fardin Ali Mollah are in the ATKMB ranks.
