Sarah Jane Smith pushed into a four-stroke lead at the U.S. Women's Open as the second round was suspended Friday.

Smith carded a second straight five-under 67 to move into 10 under at the Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club in Alabama.

The Australian was well clear when the second round was suspended due to dangerous weather.

Oh Su-hyun (68) sits at six under, alongside Ariya Jutanugarn, who was one under through eight holes in her second round.

That trio are well ahead of the rest of the pack, with a group of seven players back at three under.

Seven-time major champion and world number one Inbee Park is in that group after shooting a one-under 71.

Carlota Ciganda (68), Jenny Shin (69), Chella Choi (70), Kim Ji-hyun (71), Kim Sei-young (71) and amateur Linn Grant (72) are also at three under.

Defending champion Park Sung-hyun endured another miserable round, shooting a five-over 77 to sit at nine over.
