India A drew 1-1 with South Korea in the first practice hockey match at the Sports Authority of India campus on Tuesday.

The South Korean team, who are in Bengaluru to gain practice ahead of the Asian Games in Jakarta next month, began the match with a good defensive structure.

Playing full press, Korea ensured they kept the hosts from making potential forays into the striking circle.

Though India A won a penalty corner in the first quarter, Rupinder Pal Singh’s flick rebounded off the post.

After a goalless first two quarters, South Korea made the first breakthrough with a field strike by Seo Inwoo in the 31st minute.

India made some good attempts for a field goal in the following minutes however, could not convert.
