Manuel Lanzarote’s spectacular freekicks helped ATK return to winning ways with a 2-1 win against Jamshedpur FC (JFC) at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Sunday. The win helps ATK revive its play-off hopes. Mario Arques Blasco scored for Jamshedpur FC late in the game.

The host went ahead in the third minute when the JFC right-back Dhanachandra Singh tripped Garcia just outside the box. Lanzarotte took the resulting freekick and slotted it into the far corner, giving JFC goalkeeper Subrata Paul no chance to make a save.

ATK doubled its lead in the 33rd minute with a similar strike from Lanzarote. Dhanachandra brought down Garcia once again and Lanzarote dispatched the free-kick into the net with the same precision that got him his first.

The host went on the defensive after the break and allowed the visitor enough space to attempt a comeback. The visitor’s goal came when Blasco nodded home a Bikash Jairu cross in the 82nd minute but it was a little too late to mount a comeback.

The result: ATK (Manuel Lanzarote 3', 33') bt Jamshedpur FC (Mario Arques Blasco 82')
