Excerpts:

Someone you would go to when you are in doubt?

My parents.

The opposition you loved playing against the most and hated the most?

I don’t hate playing against any team. But yes, I definitely love facing Pakistan, Australia and South Africa.

How do you unwind?

It depends. I love listening to music; there are times when I read books. Oh yes, I also love cooking.

One thing that people don’t know about you?

The emotional side of me often goes unnoticed. I don’t show it to anyone. I look strong, but inside, I am very, very emotional.

One cricket ground you would like to play at?

The HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Your sporting idol?

Michael Jordan and Roger Federer are the two sporting idols. I like Federer for the way he has returned fighting the odds. There have been highs and lows, but he has bounced back.

Favourite movie?

There are so many. But I enjoy any films of Amitabh Bachchan and Salman bhai (Khan).

Favourite song?

I like any song from the film ‘Yaarana.’

The most precious gift of your life?

My daughter Gracia is the most precious gift of my life. She has changed our world.

Favourite holiday destination?

Amsterdam is one place I like. There are other places too, like Ibiza island, Barcelona.

Your biggest off the field accomplishment?

The aim is to be a good human being, and stay humble. That’s very important. Another significant thing is to live for the present.

Your secret talent?

I am a good singer. I am also learning how to play the saxophone.

Your secret crush?

Jessica Alba, any day…

Prankster in the team from whom you would keep away?

No one… Pranksters are fun people to be with. In a competitive cricketing environment, you need more such people to chill around.
