Lance Armstrong went to the hospital to get his "head checked" after crashing on a bike trail in Snowmass Village, Colo.
The former pro cyclist posted a photo Wednesday on Instagram of his bloody face after the accident and explained in the caption what happened.
"Well, sometimes you’re the hammer and sometimes you’re the nail! The Tom Blake trail (one of my faves) came up and tried to KO my a— today. Took quite the blow to the noggin’ so swung by the Aspen Valley Hospital (great facility!) to get my head checked. For the 46 [years] prior to today I completely would have blown off getting checked. Not now,” Armstrong wrote, in part.
Armstrong, 46, was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned from competition in 2012 when the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency leveled accusations that Armstrong was orchestrating a widespread doping scheme. He later admitted to steroid use in January 2013.
