9:05pm: Ramkumar Ramanthan makes his way into the second round with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Marcel Granollers. Ramkumar becomes the first Indian to advance to the next round.

Also among the crowd is Gerard Granollers, brother and doubles partner of Marcel Granoller. They won their first round match 6-4,6-4 against Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Nicholas Monroe.

8:29pm Ramkumar Ramanathan wins the second set 6-4 .

Our reporter Anirudh updates - "At 15-40, Ramkumar wins it with a crosscourt forehand. Breaks serve, takes set and the crowd loves it."

8:12pm An argument breaks out between Ramkumar and the umpire.

Our correspondent says - " At 3-2 lead and 15-15 , Ramkumar wants to challenge but referee says it has to be swift and he was too late to ask for a challenge. Been two minutes and the argument is still on."

8:10pm Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan are though to the second round. They beat Malek Jaziri and Radu Albot in straight sets 6-1 6-2 . They've looked good and had even dragged a section of the centre court crowd to watch them in action.

8:05pm Jiri Vesely is through to the secound round, beating Antoine Hoang 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

8:00pm A change of shirt may have worked wonders for Ramkumar. He's moving more freely at the baseline and takes the lead for the first time in the match. Leads 2-1 in second set.

7:56pm Things are looking easy for Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan. They're 3-0 up in the second set.

Our correspondent Anirudh is at centre court, but somehow knows Bopanna and Sharan, who are playing on court 1, are doing well.

"Crowd at the doubles game is a lot louder than the one at centre court. Can hear their cheers inside the centre court and needn't look at the scores to know Bopanna and Sharan are doing well.

Some of the crowd has been filtering out at every interval in the centre court. One says "Wahan aur acha hai [It's better over there]," as he walks out. Presumably about the doubles game? Looks like the news of Bopanna and Sharan has reached them."

7:55pm Benoit Piare's through, beating Thiago Monteiro 7-6(5), 6-3.

7:47pm Ramkumar Ramanathan loses the first set 4-6 and has used up all three of his challenges, all turning out to be unsuccessful.

Our reporter updates - "Ramkumar gives his all but Granollers has been a step ahead. He's [Ramkumar] soaking wet now and has gone for a change of shirt."
