Second seeds Leander Paes-Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico won back to back matches, without dropping a set, to make the doubles semifinals of the $150,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Dominican Republic.
However, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in partnership with Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador was beaten in the doubles quarterfinals 10-7 in the super tie-break by Ariel Behar and Roberto Quiroz.
In the ITF men’s Futures in Hua Hin, second seed Manish Sureshkumar outplayed Shalva Dzhanashiya of Russia for the loss of five games to set up a title clash against unseeded Ajeet Rai of New Zealand.
