How many rounds are there in the NBA Draft?

The NBA Draft involves two rounds which then help decide which player will make it through to the annual draft. Each NBA team gets one pick in both rounds of the draft. Once that’s done, teams have the option to exchange picks with one another.

How many players are part of the 2023 NBA Draft?

58 players are selected in this year’s draft. A player is not allowed to sign in the NBA until he has been eligible for at least one draft.

Why has this number changed from 60?

The NBA rescinded the Philadelphia 76ers’ second-round draft picks in 2023 and 2024 after an investigation found the team violated free agency rules.

Frenchman Victor Wembanyama is considered a slam dunk to be taken first overall in Thursday’s NBA Draft by a San Antonio Spurs team that would be counting on the French basketball phenom to restore the franchise’s winning culture.
